Magdalena Baczewska will perform The Banquet Concerto, and The Triple Resurrection by the Oscar-winning Chinese-American composer Tan Dun, with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra

on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, under the baton of the composer. Also on the program: Tan Dun’s Hero Concerto, Crouching Tiger Concerto, The Banquet Concerto, and The Triple Resurrection.
Magdalena has had the pleasure of collaborating with Maestro Tan Dun since 2014, performing his music with the San Francisco Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, and China National Symphony, at venues including the Tanglewood Music Festival, Guangzhou Opera House, and the Beijing National Center for the Performing Arts. At the invitation of the composer, Magdalena recorded Tan Dun’s chamber music at the legendary Water Heavens near Shanghai.
The world-renowned Chinese-American composer, conductor, and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Tan Dun, is one of the foremost figures in contemporary classical music. An Oscar and Grammy Award winner for his score for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, he has also received numerous other prestigious distinctions throughout his career. His remarkable and wide-ranging body of work, spanning operas, orchestral and chamber compositions, and acclaimed film scores, has been performed by leading orchestras around the globe to great critical acclaim. Renowned for his innovative approach, he frequently integrates audiovisual elements into his compositions.
