Enjoy the finale of "The Battle of Manassas "by Thomas ‘Blind Tom’ Wiggins, performed by Magdalena Baczewska live at the historic Jamesport Meeting House. Born blind, autistic, and a slave, Blind Tom became the most highly paid pianist of the 19th century. His performances earned him more than $1.5M per year, yet he or his family were never able to enjoy the fruit of his success.

The Battle of Manassas describes the chaos of the first major battle of the Civil War. Blind Tom composed it at 13. Note the use of tone cluster portraying the sound of cannons. In 1862!
