On July 2, we lost Nikolai Kapustin (1937-2020), whose music has been, and continues to be, a joy to explore. Here is his op. 41, a set of very funky variations on the opening theme of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring - a breath of fresh air in any pianist's repertoire.
